It’s a wonderful spot to totally unwind and relax as well as stargaze. There is no noise or light pollution. There are walks straight from the door and the area is terrific for road and mountain biking.
A great village pub, The Holly Bush Inn which also serves food is a 5 minute walk.
Bellingham is only 5 miles away and there is a variety of shops, pubs, cafes and a petrol station. Otterburn is just 9 miles away and has a village shop and places to eat and drink. Kielder is only 12 miles away where you can access the Forest, Lake and Visitor Centre. Cragside National Trust house and Gardens is 24 miles away.
Alnwick Castle and Alnwick Gardens are an hour’s drive away. The Northumberland Heritage Coastal route is also achievable for a day out.
History of The Library

There are two apartments with private entrance designed for 2 people, dogs are permitted by request. You can rent them both and enjoy an interconnecting door if you wish to visit with friends or family. Both apartments have a secure area to lock up bikes and there is parking immediately outside. There is a shared garden with tables and chairs at the rear which overlooks the splendid view.
NORTH STAR – a ground floor apartment with log burner in an open plan lounge with fully fitted kitchen. A large bedroom with a panoramic window so you wake up to uninterrupted views, Kingsize bed and a dressing room leading to a spacious ensuite shower room. The entrance is at the front of the building.
STARGAZERS – aptly named as it has its own star gazing terrace with loungers to enjoy the views during the day and the night sky. This apartment occupies the whole area at the top of the house and has a huge open plan lounge with a well-equipped kitchen. The bedroom has a roll top free standing bath and leads into an ensuite bathroom with a spacious shower. There is also a separate small terrace at the back where you can watch the sun go down. The entrance is through the glass atrium at the back of the building.
